When you have the fundamentals down on the way to work the airbrush then you can just about create some great airbrush art on your vehicle. It doesn’t matter if you can draw or not. There isn’t any must be able to free hand you art work either. Stencils may be employed to airbrush art on to your car just the same as any other surface or project. The art that you create with airbrushing is only restricted to your own imagination. There are loads of places to get stencils or get designs so you can make your own stencils. If you do make your own stencils for airbrushing your vehicle don’t use paper to make your stencils. Autos need a lot of paint and this may damage paper stencils fairly swiftly. So stick with plastic or vinyl material for your stencils. A great inexpensive plastic to use for stencils is thin plastic folders. These can get picked up reasonably in office supply areas of most stores.
When doing airbrush art there are various kinds of airbrushes that are available. The best airbrush to use for putting airbrush art onto a vehicle is a gravity fed airbrush. This is the one that execs use and will give your design a high quality look. The paint can be car paint but ensure that you employ a well ventilated area as the smoke can pose a health danger. It’s best when using car paint to wear a respirator at every point. When using car paint ensure that it is thin enough to flow thru the airbrush. If the automobile paint that you have selected doesn’t flow then thin it down so it flows. The paint should be thinned to about a milk thickness. A good car lacquer will work fine to thin down your auto paint.
Different airbrush art calls for different psi on your compressor. PSI stands for pounds per square in. and for car airbrush art you want a compressor which has a psi of 55-65. Iwata is a great major brand to go with and they offer 4 compressors which will work for airbrushing automotives. Badger is another good major brand that you can go with. They offer a few air compressors which will work when doing airbrush art on cars. When it comes to any piece of your tangible airbrush hardware like the airbrush and its parts as well as the compressor make efforts to go with big name brand. Don’t use any knock offs as these will cost additional money and a lot of headaches in the longer term. You get what you pay for and when it comes to airbrush art you want to go with names that you can have trust in.
Plenty of knock offs also will give for a more tricky time finding spares when they tear up. Knock offs will tear up faster than the big name brands. So save yourself the trouble of being in the middle of your airbrush art project on your car and find yourself unable to get spares for your airbrush apparatus.
